Melbourne's favourite pub punk exports have scored their first Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance, capping off a massive year that saw them dominate the ARIAs.
Just when you thought Amyl and the Sniffers couldn't have a bigger year, the Melbourne four-piece have scored their first ever Grammy nomination.
The track "U Should Not Be Doing That" from their third album Cartoon Darkness has been nominated for Best Rock Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awardsβputting the band in rare company among Australian rock acts on the world stage.
ARIA Domination
The Grammy nod follows an absolutely dominant performance at the 2025 ARIA Awards, where Amyl and the Sniffers took home four major awards:
- Album of the Year β Cartoon Darkness
- Best Group
- Best Rock Album
- Best Cover Art
It's a remarkable achievement for a band that started playing to handfuls of punters at Melbourne's underground venues less than a decade ago.
World Domination in 2026
The band isn't slowing down. Their 2026 touring schedule includes:
- North American Tour β June 4-20, including a massive show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado
- Bonnaroo Festival β June 2026
- European Tour β August, spanning 11 dates from Italy to Paris
- Governors Ball β Headlining alongside Lorde
From Fitzroy to the World
Frontwoman Amy Taylor and her bandmates have done something increasingly rare: built an international career from the Australian independent music scene without compromising their sound or energy. They still play like they're at the Tote, whether it's a Sydney pub or Red Rocks.
The Grammy ceremony takes place in February 2026. Win or lose, Amyl and the Sniffers have already proven that Australian punk rock belongs on the world stage.
