A heritage-listed picture palace opened in 1929, designed by Henry Eli White as 'The Empire's Greatest Theatre.' Features stunning Art Deco design with Gothic and Italian influences, a 4-tonne Koh-i-Noor crystal chandelier (one of the world's largest), and a 21-Rank Wurlitzer organ. Home to the Sydney Film Festival since 1974 and has hosted acts including Bette Midler, Cyndi Lauper, Tim Minchin, and Tori Amos.
